Osu dear Hanshi,shihan,sensei,sempai and other respected people,I want to thank you all for your great support at our FIRST world championships.It was a great week and a great show and it wouldn’t happened all without your help.We make a step in a new direction of fighting and show the world we are there.You all can be proud for what you have don for the IBK this last weekOf course some things can be better next time, but we did something and I can tell you next year it will be better and bigger.We make history whit our new pro division and we hold on to the legacy of sosai whit our knock down wc.

These Rules were explained and demonstrated prior to the matches every day.

It was regrettable that some choose to ignore these rules.
It is also regrettable that some ignored the world wide rules by not obeying the Referee.  This also reflects that those who did so also violated a basic principle of Budo by being disrespectful, discourteous, and undisciplined. Our form of the Martial Arts, is the toughest and hardest form of Karate and the Martial Arts but still requires the basics of Budo which are; Kokoro, respect, discipline, courage, courtesy, self-control, and honesty.  Then the IBK requires that each fighter and coach to do their best within those rules to win. OSU!*!*  The IBK’s goal is that the best win.  The IBK is not concerned with whom that fighter is or from what country he/she comes from.  Only that the best win and these rules, the compliance Rules for the Kyokushin World Championships were provided to all participants in with them, and the enforcement of them are all designed for that purpose. OSU!*!*

Rules are established so that everyone can start equally.  These rules allow the best to emerge as the winner and the very best to emerge as the Champions.  They accomplish this by being enforced by the Officials; the referee, the corner judges, and the supreme judges.  Rules are designed to assure all are treated equally and to assure that the violator(s) do not gain an advantage.  All infringements and all infractions will be called by the officials so that no ‘unfair’ advantage is gained by the violator(s).
Rules are not established to be violated.  Rules are not established so that they can be stretched to the breaking point to gain an unfair advantage.  Rules are made for true Budokans and true Budokans will, without being reminded, obey them.

The following are taken from the Official Rules: Clause 10…………………………………….. Disqualification
Aggressive behavior or bad conduct by fighter or coach. 

1.  
2. A contestant who is late or who fails to appear for a bout.
3. A contestant who has received 2 Genten;
4. A contestant who has received a Shikaku.
5. 5. A contestant who remains facing his/her opponent, and does not or is not prepared to engage in fighting, for more than 30 seconds will be regarded as lacking the will to fight and will be disqualified. Both contestants in a bout may be disqualified under this clause.
   (These also include the unwillingness to fight a friend, a fellow countryman, and when after (see 1 above) have failed to engage in the full spirit of Kyokushin will be disqualified.)
   (When a fighter does not show for the next bout and it is not due to an injury, then he will be disqualified.  If both fighters are from the same team then they will both be disqualified and the team may also be disqualified.)

Again, we must emphasize that Kyokushin is knock down fighting and the IBK will not tolerate any less than full participation by all participants. Bottom Line is that all IBK tournaments, and especially World Championships, have been and will continue to be such that honor our Sosai Masutatsu Oyama.  We will allow nothing or anybody to cast shame and/or dishonor on the great respected name of Sosai Masutatsu Oyama or this IBK.
